Dayspring’s 6th Annual Mini-golf Classic
A record number of corporate foursomes and family teams joined Title Sponsor, IPL, and Dayspring Center at Pirates’ Cove for a wacky, all-out fun miniature golf fundraiser to benefit local homeless families with children. IndyCar Driver, Ed Carpenter and his wife, Heather, came out to support the cause and played six holes with three corporate teams.
Teams faced some of the most unusual putting challenges at this year’s Mini-golf Classic. While some put their putting skills to test using a pool cue, and baseball bat, others struggled to get that sought- after “hole-in-one” prize putting a marble or navigating around lamp bases strewn on the IPL hole!
Family/friend Teams enjoyed crazy putting challenges, “drop-your-putter” dance offs and scooped up prizes at several holes. While playing, teams learned about family homelessness in central Indiana reading facts about homelessness posted throughout the course. At the end of their round, families were encouraged to complete the “Dayspring Fact Finder” on the back of their scorecard for a prize. Congratulations to the following family/friend team prize winners:
“Family Team Dance-off”: Angela Jones and her team
Dayspring Center “Facts” Winner: The Barbar Family and the Jacobi Family.
Corporate teams gathered at the ExactTarget Patron’s Party prior to the tournament. Ed Carpenter was auctioned off to play 6 holes with the three highest bidding foursomes. Corporate teams competed for several prizes. First-time winners UBS Financial Services took home the grand prize (Bowling Party for 40 at Incrediplex) and the traveling trophy. Teams also donned spirit wear and showed their energy on the course competing for the Spirit Stick award! This year’s winner, Russell, Martin & Associates broke four year running champs, ExactTarget’s streak and were awarded the Spirit Stick and a free 2-hour tour on the Handle Bar.
