What We Do
Dayspring provides homeless families and their children with the tools and resources to live a healthier, independent way of life.
Dayspring is an emergency shelter for homeless families, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Families seeking assistance at our emergency shelter are typically at a crisis stage and require the compassionate care and support of our case management team. While the bare necessities of food, clothing & shelter are of critical importance, Dayspring’s experienced case managers work with each family to develop a plan to help them address the underlying issues of their homelessness. When families are stabilized and ready to leave the emergency shelter facility, Dayspring services continue through the Follow-up Case Management Program.

Dayspring Center Announces Teresa Wessel as Interim Executive Director
DAYSPRING – Dayspring Center announced the appointment of Teresa Wessel as Interim Executive Director, effective May 5. Wessel brings more than a decade of nonprofit executive leadership to the role and will guide the organization during this transition period while the Board of Directors conducts a thorough search for a permanent Executive Director.
Indy homelessness keeps rising in 2025
Indianapolis Star — Homelessness in Indianapolis continues to climb closer to the highest levels recorded in the past 15 years, new data shows.
The newly released 2025 point-in-time count — a nationwide census held each January to provide a single-night snapshot of homelessness — found that 1,815 people were experiencing homelessness in Marion County at the beginning of this year.
