Welcome from the Board Chairman
My name is Tim Spidel and I am the new President of the Board Of Directors at Dayspring Center. I am deeply honored to have this opportunity to continue serving Dayspring but in new capacity.
I not only think of all the things I am thankful for in my life personally, but also for all the things where Dayspring is thankful. Despite the obstacles and uncertainties that arose these past two years, Dayspring Center persevered because of our incredible staff, volunteers, and donors like you.
This letter serves two purposes: (1) to share my personal story and tell you how excited I am about the direction Dayspring Center is headed, and (2) to say thank you to all the wonderful volunteers and donors who have given so much to us, not only this year, but in year’s past.
I was introduced to the Dayspring Center in 2006 shortly after we moved to the Indianapolis area. I saw an article about Dayspring in the Indy Star, picked up the phone and asked if there was anything I could do to help. Like many of you, after one visit to Dayspring, I was all-in. In addition to volunteering at Dayspring with my wife and children, I also started helping with Special Events and Development which I continue to do to this day. I also served a 3-year term on the Board of Directors from 2009-2012. I am honored to have this opportunity to serve again on the Board of Directors and provide whatever help I can to support the efforts of our extraordinary staff, volunteers, and the families we serve at Dayspring Center.
We have added 7 new Board Members and the new role of a Board Intern to Dayspring Center. Many of these new Board members are long-time friends of Dayspring, and we have a few new members who just learned of Dayspring in the last year. The energy from this group is exhilarating and I can’t tell you how excited I am to partner with them as we do our part to support and strengthen Dayspring’s mission of serving homeless families with children.
More than anything, I wanted to reach out and say, Thank You!
Whether you have given a one-time gift of $25, monthly gifts, sponsored a special event or made any type of financial contribution to Dayspring Center, know that every single dollar is impactful. Whether you prepared and served a meal, volunteered at the front desk or during Summer Camp, completed a painting project or attended one of our events like the Walkathon of Golf Classic, know that every single hour you spend with Dayspring is impactful. I am constantly moved and inspired by the generosity of our Dayspring friends.
As we approach the holidays –and every day, please keep Dayspring Center in mind. Your continued support of your time, talents, and donations is vital to our success. Stay tuned for many great things to come. With the strength and quality of our Staff, Volunteers, Donors, and Board of Directors, I know we will accomplish some wonderful things.
I shared a little bit about my story, and I’d love to hear from you. Please feel welcome to contact me at any time if you have a great story to share or have any questions about Dayspring Center.
Sincerely,
Tim Spidel
President, Dayspring Board of Directors
