The Back Story

2023 Ride to Hope & Beyond

Dave Bartz and Rich Farkas came up with a plan to aid nonprofit organizations: riding their bikes from Indy to Hope, MI.

Rich ran for many years and got more serious about biking in the last few years. Dave ran too, back in the day, dropped it and has been road biking since 2013.

They hatched a plan. And this year that plan benefits Dayspring as Dave and Rich ride 414 miles to raise funds to bring hope to homeless families in Central Indiana.

Dave and Rich are riding beyond Holland, MI, home of Hope College, which is Rich’s alma mater, and heading up to Lake Leelanau, MI. They plan on doing it by biking two days to Holland, MI, one day off, then to Ludington, MI, and then onward to their destination, where their wives, Theresa and Deb, meet them at the journey’s end.
